Timofey Kuznetsov Leads Super High Roller Bowl

30 May, 2016 | 13:18 от Aleksandra

Timofey Kuznetsov

After Day 1 of the Super High Roller Bowl at Aria, Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov leads the remaining 35 players

Probably Aria Resort & Casino is the best place for playing for Timofey Kuznetsov. He has only two live scores, and both are from tournaments in Aria. Last summer he played at the Super High Roller Bowl’s final table and won $2,125,000. His second score came from his first place at a $50,000 buy-in event at Aria for around $750,000.

With his lead after Day 1, he is on pace for third cash. The Russian poker pro has 1,129,500 in chips and is the only one to break through the seven-digit barrier.

Russian’s closest competition is Matt Berkey (745,500) and Fedor Holz (736,500). Last December, both players won High Roller events. Berkey took down a $25,000 event at Aria while Holz won the $100,000 Alpha8 event at Bellagio.

In top five are also Daniel Colman with 665,000 and Daniel Negreanu with 635,500.

The $300,000 buy-in event attracted a mix of the world’s top poker players and high stakes amateurs. On Day 1, 14 players were sent home, including Isaac Haxton, Scott Seiver, Haralabos Voulgaris and Doug Polk.

Antonio Esfandiari, the former winner of the Big One for One Drop, didn’t even make it through the first hour. After losing a pot to Jason Mercier, Esfandiari went all-in with ::Qd::Qs against Brian Rast and his ::As::Kd. On the board came ::Jh::9d::4d::8d::Kc and Esfandiari ended his game after just 45 minutes.

Day 2 of the tournament starts at 1 PM PT. The first three hours of action will be streamed on Poker Central’s Twitch channel.
