Heard the big news from Americas Cardroom? Online BOTS have been fleeing from the US-facing site as they set their sights on other poker sites that are more penetrable.

Recently, online BOT provider War Bot removed Americas Cardroom from their list of supported sites, and Shanky technologies (BonusBots.com) and Kraken, Medusa (PokerBots.com) have reported that their BOTS are currently not working on the site.

BOTS have been a plague for online poker sites for a number of years. Americas Cardroom’s recent internal review uncovered that 12 players were involved with BOTS. They banned all 12 and refunded $450,000 to affected customers.

ACR then decided to be more proactive in dealing with BOTS and less reactive. Thus, the following changes were implemented:

1. They increased the size of both their BOT team and Customer Assessment Team.
2. They did a new software upgrade that had many benefits, including dealing with BOTS. With the new software, BOTS companies are forced to do continual programming to work on ACR. That’s not worth their while.
3. The poker client added a new Google Captcha service, allowing BOTS to be identified much more easily.
